Attorney General Mike Beebe, the governor-elect, said Thursday that he expects a fight in his bid to phase out the state sales tax on groceries
Beebe was never in favor of cutting the tax and only come out for it when it became an issue in the election. Now he's looking for ways to renege on his promise to phase out the tax. Beebe and his pals are already pawing through the budget surplus and they don't want to share it with Arkansas taxpayers. Beebe is counting on the tax surplus to court a lot of new friends and power.
