These guys aren't the brightest bunch of people. I am referring to an environmental group called the Center for Biological Diversity.
The group has petitioned the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to protect 12 penguin species under the U.S. Endangered Species Act.
There is a really big problem. The penguin doesn't exist in the U.S. except for zoos. The penguin being a native to the South Pole, is just a wee bit beyond the U.S.' jurisdiction. Oh Lord, these people just keep losing all sense of sanity.

Yes, how silly of us to want to try and prevent the snuffing out of 10 penguin species or any other of the 100 species or so that go extinct every day, according to scientists (the normal background rate for thousands of years averaged 1 species a year). I guess even if penguins are dying from warming water temperatures from greenhouse gases of which the US is the greatest contributor, as well as loss of krill, their food source because US fishing fleets vacuum square miles of ocean and seine out the krill to use to feed their fish farms to feed the growing American seafood demand.
